Was there ever a second firehouse, perhaps even belonging to a volunteer unit, in the Rosedale neighborhood of Queens?
I always read the thread called NYC and FDNY firehouses, and when I looked at the entry for Engine Co. 314, I realized that their firehouse is not the one I remember seeing there. The building I remember was on the north side of the Belt Parkway (perhaps it's already Sunrise Highway at that point) right before you cross into Nassau County. As I recall it was a two-story building with two or three apparatus bays. It was clearly visible from the highway.
I used to see this in the 1970s and 1980s on my way to the grandparents on Long Island.
