Chief K - Thank you for providing final honors, so to speak, for all these members who have passed away. It is very meaningful to acknowledge their passing - but even more important - acknowledging their lives which were all devoted to serving and protecting others. Our prayers and our memories of these real heroes are very important - for them and for us, and for members to come. They will always be gone but not forgotten. Watkins Street regrets to inform you of the passing of former Watkins Street member Chief Curt Landgrebe. Chief Landgrebe was a U.S. Air Force veteran before joining the FDNY and serving as both a Lieutenant and Captain in Ladder 120 during the 60's and 70's, also known as the War Years due to the immense amount of fire duty and runs the men endured. The current members of Watkins Street had the pleasure and honor of meeting Chief Landgrebe at a recent visit to the firehouse before his passing. There is no doubt he left a lasting impression on us that it is both an honor and a privilege to work on Watkins Street. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

North Texas first responders coordinate proper sendoff for fallen firefighter from New York

Retired FDNY Captain Peter Massiello moved to North Texas two years ago and passed away last week. He feared he wouldn't have uniformed firefighters at his funeral. One local fire captain heard about his concern and said that wouldn't be happening.

"FF William E. Schneider (note corrected spelling) was appointed 11/1/58 and assigned to Engine 289.
