EVERY TIME I READ A NAME HERE, I have to wonder did I ever talk to them in the street. Did I ever sit at the firehouse kitchen table with them while we all shared a coffee or a meal together. Did they answer one of the questions I used to ask. Did we laugh a few times together.

They taught me so much. They showed me what a thing called "Brotherhood" is really all about. They were funny but they were tough.

I really didn't know their names. I only knew the kind of work these guys did on a daily basis. It never let up and it went on for years like that.

They were ALL a very special breed of firefighters. The world will probably never see another group like them.

MAY THEY ALL REST IN PEACE and THANK YOU for your services to the City of New York.
