Joe Higgins was not the current president of the Fire Bell Club as stated. He stepped down several years ago.

Joe was a buff in 75 / 33. He frequently rode with us on Friday nights. A nice man who loved the FDNY. Rest in peace.

Very sad news about Jack. He was good people. Thank you Chief for your tribute. I'm sure it was a heck of a reunion with the guys from 280/132, 232/176 and the Brooklyn CO when Jack arrived in the "Kitchen".
Rest in Peace, Jack, you will be missed and will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Jack arrived at the Tin House around 83. Lt. Manzilla came to 176 and told Jack to come. Of course the heavy war years were almost a thing of the past but we were still fairly busy. He would take photos of the Companies at work. He amassed a fairly large album of the guys operating. Some of the shots are really terrific, because we would respond to a multiple alarm, sometimes on the box, or special called. He was a true gentle man and will be missed by the Tin House Alumni.
