a while back I recall some discussion regarding the Atlas Life Net. Back in 1949 March, (see WNYF JULY 1979, page six "Net Results") Engine 225 responded to a fire at Blake and Linwood in Brooklyn where they used their Quarter Fold net to save a mother and four children from a fire involving the second and third floor and interior stairwell of a three story building. On arrival first due they observed the mother holding a six year old out of a third story window. The company, with the assistance of several civilian bystanders, spread the net and caught all five, with the mother jumping last with no injuries to any of them.
