What does the ATRV respond to and what is "ATRV"?

I believe it's "All Terrain Response Vehicle" used for brush fires etc.

All-Terrain Response Vehicle 329 is a second piece cross-staffed by E329.  It is used for responding down to areas of Breezy Point and Roxbury where narrow roads and heavy sand conditions drastically limit the response of normal apparatus; if you take a look at what the vollies down there operate they're almost all 4WD vehicles.  It carries a small amount of hose and engine company tools and has a manifold for relaying from the regular engine.

Used to be know as the Manifold Hose Wagon, I believe.

The Manifold Wagon was basically the same thing, only it carried less equipment and could only seat 2.  When the new replacement vehicle arrived the unit was simply re-designated.  On the rare occasions that it gets called on Queens I've heard it called as the "E329 Sand Vehicle" or "E329 Hose Wagon" etc.
