Overturned and burning gasoline tanker at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Newbridge Road
Numerous mutual aid and special units currently responding.

Reported persons trapped in burning vehicles and buildings burning

2320hrs- Tanker and several vehicles involved in fire, extension to (1) taxpayer ATT

2323hrs- Bellmore CMD rpts Signal 10. Evacuations underway.

2326hrs- M/A Hicksville and Freeport for foam to the scene. Staging at Grand X Newbridge. (1) deck gun, (1) Tower Ladder going into operation.

2338hrs- M/A foam trucks from Republic Airport and McArthur Airport to the scene. Req. FDNY for Foam unit.

2350hrs- CMD req. (2) sanders each  from State, County and Town to the scene. Wantagh Rehab Unit responding.

2354hrs- (3) Foam units in staging ATT. Req. foam operation at Newbridge X Clinton.

0002hrs- S/C (2) Engines to scene, (1) from East Meadow, (1) from Baldwin. 

0006hrs- Nassau County Field Com 4 to the scene.

0010hrs- Co's setting up 2nd foam line.

0015hrs- Tanker is burning at Sunrise Highway X Brevoort Place, between Auto Zone and Action Motors, both 1-story commercial. Evacuations complete on Brevoort Place.

0016hrs- S/C extra Engine with foam to the scene,

0026hrs- Lawrence/Cedarhurst and Inwood Engines responding with foam. Cancelling request for FDNY units.

0030hrs- CMD rpts fire darkening down. Returning units from McArthur Airport.

Bellmore's OIC of first due engine said EVERY member of crew on rig said "What the #$*@!" as soon as they turned onto Sunrise Highway coming out of quarters.  Not your usual Tuesday night on Long Island.  :eek: :eek:
