FDNY Band Founder To Get His Own Bayside Block

A longtime firefighter who lived in Bayside and founded the FDNY band will soon be the namesake of a neighborhood street.

Big Jim was an aptly named nickname for he was truly a Bigger than life member of the FDNY.

A nice tribute to Brother Jim......also Corbett Road by his house was named for the Boxer "Gentleman Jim" Corbett ......at the Bayside LIRR Station on one of the columns outside the Ticket area there is a set of Boxing Gloves cast into the column for Corbett.
