I recall lying in bed late that sleepy Sunday morning with my old computer logged into TheBravest.com, listening to the FDNY Bronx feed. The run came in for Andrews Avenue, all the responding companies very familiar to me. Much voice communications for what was obviously a tough job.
And then, it seemed to progress into confusion...
Suddenly, a long pause...... followed by
a hurried request for a "mixer off message". One could just tell by the tone of the voices that conditions had gone terribly awry.
A tough memory of a horrible event.
