Thanks for those stats grumpy I think that would be Lad. 4 's busiest year. There was a man that use to record all of Boston stats but I think he pass on.

Ladder 4 has always been at the top for runs. Last numbers I had for 2019 they had 4383, they were the busiest company in the city. In 2018 they had 5136 runs.

BFD engine and ladder companies rotate EMS runs monthly. BFD engines would have more annual runs if they did not split EMS runs with truck companies in their quarters. Engines in single houses (e.g. E 21 E 22) can pick up almost twice as many EMS runs as companies in engine/truck quarters. Note - if the engine is out on another run, and if it is an engine EMS month, the truck in quarters will be assigned to an EMS run and not another engine.

I did not realize Lad 4 did that amount of runs , I know it was always close between lad4, lad26, lad15, a few years back. These companies are all excellent at what they do as most of the Engines and Trucks in Boston are. Thanks for the info. grumpy.

If they would put L-13 back in service @ E-22 it would had an effect on those companies, as well as L-17.

I think Lad 13, lad. 27, lad.30 to mention a few got disbanded when prop 2 and a half went into effect. I pretty sure the only city in the metro area that did not lose any companies was Cambridge.
