Boston has placed an order with KME for a 95' tower ladder. This will replace the 2001 85' Pierce of TL-10. Boston's other tower is TL-3, a 2005 Pierce mid mount. Delivery is expected in 6-7 months.

This might be a little confusing, bear with me. TL-17's old rig, a 2005 Pierce 95' mid mount will be re-assigned to TL-10, which will become a spare. Now the old TL-10 is the spare. When the new KME is in service, the current TL-10 will probably become the spare and the current  spare, TL, X-TL-10 will probably be disposed of.

Grumpy, I found what you said but don't really understand the logic for it.  Why did they demote a 2005 TL to reserve status and put a 2001 in frontline certain person in the first place?  And then why are they retiring the 2005 yet keeping the 2001 for reserve when the new unit arrives?  Do they have major problems with the 2005 Pierce?

I guess I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. The current TL-10 is a 2001 peice. Now the XTL-17 a mid mount will become TL-10. Now X-TL-10 will become a spare. And the new rig for TL-10 will become front line their rig, XTL-17 running at TL-10  will become the spare. And the first TL-10 is???????Not so smart, am I?
