It has been a long time since I have been back to Boston but I cannot remember any dogs being allowed on trains except for dogs who assisted the visually-impaired. Obviously that woman did not meet that criteria, she was really whaling on him. He was in a no-win situation, sit there and let her beat you up, or get up and deck her.
