This was the 3rd fire in 4 days for the town.
On Wednesday 10/27/21 around 4:10am initial call came in a wires down in the roadway in the area of 315 Leetes Island Rd. E-5 was dispatched along with the PD to investigate. PD arrived within 5 mins and found primary wires down. Couple minutes later homeowner of 327 Leetes Island Rd came out the the officer and said the side of his house was on fire.
Assignment was upgraded to Structure fire adding E1,7,5, Trk1, Medic 1 and Car 6.
Car 6 arrived found fire on the side on the house by the electrical service with extension to the basement called a working fire. Eng 9 added to the working fire. Guilford RIT responded.
Car 6 advised Trk 1 to take the driveway. After about a minute of the Truck taking the driveway Car 9 to Car 6 be advised Trk 1 is energized and the ground there walking on is also energized.
After several calls to CL&P to get a crew to the scene with no ETA given Dispatched made the decision to have CL&P to cut the whole grind in that area for the safety of the firefighters.
Fire was under control in about an Hour.
2nd fire of the day Wednesday 10/27/21 around 3pm 146 N Ivy St for reported smoke coming from the apartment.
E-1,2,9, Trk1, Med1 and Car 6.
Car 6 arrived found smoke showing from apt 7. All hands were working. Room and Content fire found and held to the bedroom
