At 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, the funeral of retired Battalion Chief William (Bill) Morrisey, Bridgeport Fire Department, began at the Shrine of St. Margaret on Park Avenue in that city. The engine, officer, and crew of Engine 4 were present and lined up in his honor, along with the on duty chiefs and their vehicles. At approximately 10:30 am that entourage cleared off of the premises, sirens and horns blaring, for this job in Bridgeport’s North End.
Those in attendance at the Mass, including many of his former colleagues, all smiled. Surely Bill had arranged that as one last testament to his service.
RIP Chief Morrisey.
