Bronx Incident plotting

Recently i started plotting working fires in the Bronx on a mapr i have drawn up, collating info from all the forums and notification sites on the web.

So far this year, in the Month of jan, Da bronx has had;

20 All Hands

10 2nd Alarms

1 3rd Alarm

1 5th Alarm

The plotting of the working fires has highlighted clusters of fires, these are in the area between E90 and E64 and Sq61. The other cluster is up around the E79 and E62 area.

I may have missed one or two wprking fires, but i intend to keep this going for as long as i can and as accurately as i can, and hopefully put the map on here for others to see, maybe someone already does one on the web, if so be good to see it.

Areas of the City continue to change. Certainly the South Bronx is an example of that. What was an Extremely busy company a few years ago, has now slowed down. Mainly because the area had been totally burned out and replaced with newer buildings, with smoke detectors, sprinklers etc. Several years ago, during those Busy War Years, I can remember leaving Eng 82s area for a more civilized, quiet area. We decided to go to a decent restraunt for something to eat. We ended up at a pizza place on 183rd St, across from the old Eng 75s Qtrs. Well, the Pizza Place isn"t there anymore, and Eng 75 is up there on the busiest list. By the way, we hung around there about five hours, and 75 never turned a wheel. "How times have changed".

if they happened then they are not on this forum, or on the Yahoo rundowns. What i do have from these two sites for that area in question so far this month is ;


4 All Hands
2 2nd Alarms
1 5th Alarm

I have trawled through both sites from the 1st of January up until today, twice, and this is all that has been reported.

I also monitor Gothamist maps.

I can guarantee you that you are missing jobs from the 15th and 27 on your list...  I work in that area and those numbers cant be complete 62/32 are killing it followed by 79/37 - 38/51 - 63/39.

Any chance you can give me some info, Date, Box number, and who was 1st and 2nd due Engine. Any help would be appreciated.

3rd Alarm this morning. Gerard Avenue and E 158 Street. Taxpayer with dwellings above.
 
19th Battalion has had two multiples and a half dozen all hands this month.

17th Battalion has had about 10 all hands this month.

Busiest Battalion in the Bronx this winter is by far the 20th Battalion. Over 20 all hands or better since Christmas.

I've been tracking 2nd Alarms or greater since 2005 for all boroughs
using Google Earth ----- ;D
Manhattan has much more than I ever expected
Ranking looks like:
Brooklyn
Manhattan
Bronx
Queens
Staten Island

I have the Bronx with 10 2nd alarms so far this year.

Probably E92 and L44 FAST after that, but possibly E 60 and L17. This is just a few blocks from Yankee Satium.
