From the FDNY Facebook page:
"Yesterday, Marine 8 and Marine 9 responded to a distress call coming from a 22-foot cabin cruiser near the Verrazano Bridge. The vessel was taking on water and drifting dangerously close toward the rocks of the Brooklyn stanchion of the Verrazano Bridge. Marine 8 and Marine 9 maneuvered and tied off next to the vessel to shield it from the rocks. FDNY Members removed three people to Marine 8 and began dewatering operations using portable pumps as the vessel’s cabin had become flooded. After securing the vessel, Firefighters took the three passengers and piloted the boat back to the marina behind Liberty National Golf Course."
