Within the past hour, Broward County Sheriff Office Fire Rescue Helicopters crashed in Pompano Beach, Fla, claiming the life of a firefighter who was on board.
Officials report that there was a total of three members on board the helicopter, two have been transported to a nearby medical facility. No other information available at this time.

From the aviation sites; Rule #1 for a fire or fire warning in a helicopter- land IMMEDIATELY!

Most medical flights take place between 500 and 1000 feet. Looks like you have 30 to 40 seconds to get down on a road or parking lot. Engine/fuel fires in a helicopter are right next to the tail boom attachment.
