Last night around 8 PM a fire broke out in a 19th century farmhouse from the chimney which extended into the walls and attic. Due to a solid wooden ceiling and multiple renovations the fire was difficult access until it broke through the roof. Both exterior streams and interior crews eventually made headway in knocking down and finding hidden fire. All water was supplied by tankers and no aerial ladders were available. By midnight the fire was out and most of the structure was not destroyed. A great job by Dillwyn FD assisted by Toga FD, Arvonia FD and the Randolph District FD.
