I thought I saw that NYC was putting some kind of key code box on the rigs in order to release the brake. Am I remembering it correctly ?

I was working at an all hands in 1969 when L 3 was stolen from Ave A and St. Marks Pl. It ended up at 2nd Ave and 2nd St. which is about 8 blocks away after he hit a couple of cars and a guy on a bicycle. That’s a tiller rig and he had to make 2 turns.
