The Buffalo Fire Department has old equipment that needs replacing, according to union president Vinny Ventresca.

Personally, I think he's right on the money with the calls for newer and more capable equipment for the BFD, especially for all-weather/heavy snow events. BFD, BPD and even the DPW were getting hung up all over the place in drifts, leading to lots of apparatus being abandoned during the storm.

I'm not sure of the age and condition of their fleet but even the best equipment would've had trouble in that storm!
