Does anyone have photo's of the old Civil Defense pumpers?  I think they were Ward LaFrance, perhaps model years around 1954.

I remember them being used for training the Auxiliary Firemen and also for engine company spares.

Best kept one I ever saw was CD-25, which was quartered over at E-159 in Staten Island.

After a month o' hunting, found only one CD pumper on the net [ http://www.nyfd.com/brooklyn_engines/engine_283.html ].  It's about 2/3 the way down the page.

Anyone have more?

I am pretty sure the new Squad book from FAJ has a shot or two.

Many companies had auxiliaries.  Most rode with the apparatus of the company, but many were freelancers who traveled in their own vehicles from fire to fire.
