Chicago has a 2-11 alarm @ 10250 Avenue O on the Far South East side. Heavy fire and smoke in a 100 x 200 1 story commercial with partial collapse. Now upgraded to a 3-11 by 2-1-10. There was also a Still and Box in as well with Squad 5 responding to that incident.

Yep! They had two big jobs back in 82 on the same day when it was like 40 below zero. Both special call fires

Yep! They had two big jobs back in 82 on the same day when it was like 40 below zero. Both special call fires

January 10 1982 with an actual temp of -26 and a wind chill of -81. A 5-11 and 3 specials on N Wells, 5-11 on N Washtenaw involving 14 buildings, and a fire on Junior Terrace which would have been a normal 5-11. Mutual aid from 13 suburbs covered firehouses as well as recalling the second platoon.
