CFD is doing some re orgaization @ O'Hare, E-12 and AFRR 6-5-10 are being placed in service, more info to follow. This question is for the pups, who is this airport named after. For the old geezers, what does ORD mean on your baggage check! Just wanna have some fun with a great bunch of guys!

LCDR Butch O'Hare. Naval aviator during the Second World War. 1st Naval ace and 1st Naval recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor in WWII.

If memory serves, the airport was built in what had been a fruit orchard just before or during World War II and was originally named Orchard Field, hence ORD.

Engine 12 looks like it might be a new Spartan/ERV Engine, similar to the other new CFD Engines.
