A Chicago police officer returning home after his shift was found shot on the city's South West side Gage Park. Officer Luis Huesca, a six year veteran was 2 days short of his 31st birthday. His vehicle was reported stolen but later recovered. Another senseless killing in a city with supposedly the strictest gun laws in the country.

Chicago Police and members of the US Marshal's Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force have announced the arrest of Xavier Tate, 22 ,in the shooting death of Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca. In a symbolic sign Officer's Huesca hand-cuffs were used to place Tate in custody.
