NBC TV Channel 5 is reporting a police involved shooting at Swedish Hospital in the Ravenswood section on the North Side. One officer is dead and another critically wounded. Suspect is now in custody. My son is with Chicago Police on the West Side, District 10.

Reports from several sources state that the second officer has also passed.

This is the kind of news that we all hate to hear about.

Our police officers have a very, very dangerous job out there.

We pray.
"PLEASE LORD watch over all of our police officers as they perform their duties to protect all of us"

The perp was on an ankle monitoring bracelet that was later removed under a judge's order. He was a parole absconder and had armed burgulary and carjacking cases pending. The SAFE-T ACT @ work! The 2 officers were 10 and 21 year CPD veterans.
