A 26 year old Chicago Police officer has made the ultimate sacrifice on the city's Far South Side last night while exchanging gunfire with a suspect who was pronounced dead at the scene.

More details revealed after Chicago police officer killed in line of duty during traffic stop

Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling confirmed that one of the occupants of the vehicle involved in the traffic stop that left one officer killed had cut an ankle monitor off.

Officers we're ambushed before they even made contact, one perp had a ankle monitor cut off. Another was pronounced DOA. No word on the third suspect.
