Does anyone have pictures of a command post, or can anyone explain what an incident commander is doing on those whiteboards? Additionally, I?ve seen some sort of tablet at command posts-what are those used for? Thanks....

Command board is basically a white board to help maintain personnel accountability, the board will show where hose lines are going / operating, where company?s are operating, company?s in stagging as well as who and where the different chief officers are located and there designations on scene (saftey,Ff, Rehab etc). It?s basically just a way to keep track of everything going on and where everyone is located

Chief's vehicles have a Ipad assigned to it.  Various pictures/screenshots can be used.  Units assigned to the box are on one side of the screen.  You can choose what your "board" looks like and drag units into position.  If the 1st due bc is using it, deputy can see what is going on as responding.  Also FDOC can see how units are plotted.  Not a requirement to use.  As additional units get assigned to a box, they will show on the Ipad.  Chief or aide doesn't need to ask the dispatcher for a rundown of additional units.
