Im sure most have seen the social media videos of the sparklers igniting the decor and leading to this disaster. As of today it still sounds like they are pulling remains out and only a handful have been positively ID'd.

Ive worked with a number of Swiss in my career so I have no doubt there will be rules and regs aplenty and all sorts of litigationonce this event is sorted out, but wow. Thats a heavy price to pay for looking opulent on Instagram.
 
Crowded occupancy, no sprinklers, alcohol, young people, sparklers (1000 degrees F). Who thought that was gonna end well?

When I posted John Davidson's biography here several weeks ago, I didn't think the next episode would be so soon.
 
I don't care if it is Switzerland or Brooklyn NY USA, properly installed and supplied, tested sprinklers would and have saved many lives in Bars, Restaurants and other places of public assembly. This was an upscale Ski Resort Bar why was it not properly sprinkled? Fellow firefighters do we go to places without proper fire suppression and control systems? I we do go to unprotected places, then we are part of the problem.
