Fire companies from the Randolph District FD, Cumberland FD and Farmville FD were able to bring a fire inside a large two story barn at Hazlegrove's Dairy farm under control shortly after 11 AM. Smoke was showing from the barn as four wooden cattle pens and hay were ablaze. Two LSO brought the fire under control as an LDH supply line was layed out to the road and supplied by Randolph Tanker 45. 2000 gallons of water was used and 4 cows were burned to death. The fire started apparently from a kerosene heater placed too close to hay. Fire companies cleared the scene shortly after 1300 hrs.
