59 years ago, remember it like it was yesterday. Continued Rest in Peace to those who were lost that day. God bless those who responded to the box (1231). I remember hearing the stories from members of 132 who responded to it and operated in the fuselage and the Pillar of Fire Church.
And just think, three days later came the USS Constellation

Truckie I cant believe ,  We forget so quickly how our city has responded to Disasters. It is sown into our Fabric to bounce back. We always have. Days after the Constellation caught fire and almost capsized at the Brooklyn Naval Yards. Yes We had a Naval Yard here in NYC. Produced the USS North Carolina there I believe. Battleship that had to Navigate two bridges to get out to The Atlantic. The Public forgets but Responders never do. Thank You Truckie for the post.
