I am so sorry to hear that. Since there are a lot of burning candles, curches are more exposed to fires. And that's why they should have a very cautious anti-fire policy. For instance, my local church has a very strict policy regarding candles. The priests always warn people to fire candles carefully. Moreover, this aspect is written on its website https://firstchurchlove.com. To be honest, I believe every church should have a similar approach because it's people's lives we are speaking about here.
