Dix Hills (Suffolk) NY Working Residential Fire 11/18/23

On Saturday, November 18th at approximately 2:15pm. the Dix Hills Fire Department received multiple calls for a residential structure fire located at 5 Seaman Neck Road.

Upon arrival, the rear portion of the 2-story wood frame house was fully engulfed in flames. Under the command of Dix Hills Fire Chief Brett Tepe, mutual aid fire departments from Deer Park and Melville responded with additional fire apparatus and manpower to the scene and both Commack and Greenlawn were placed on standby with fire apparatus and rescue resources at Dix Hills FD headquarters. Approximately 75 firefighters battled the blaze which was place under control at 3pm.

Suffolk County FRES Deputy Fire Coordinators also responded to the scene to assist command in operations, logistics and public information.
The origin of the fire is under investigation by the Suffolk County Police Arson Squad and the Town of Huntington Fire Marshal's Office. There were no injuries reported.
