"Might be"? A quick walk around a small part of my neighborhood will show over 95% of the boxes OOS with nothing but the shell of the box left on the lamppost (usually filled with discarded coffee cups, paper and plastic bags and other unidentifiable detritus). What will happen when the cell phones go OOS during the next big event? Oh, yeah, and where are the pay phones for when the cell system goes out? Interestingly enough, the same quick walk around the Seventies between Fifth and Park (Mr. Bloomberg's neighborhood) show all boxes in full order. Hmmm... Many thanks to Mr. Bloomberg and Mr. DeBlasio for their extraordinarily forward-thinking public safety, political and good-government planning!
In the "old days" when the media (News, Post, Mirror, Journal-American, Herald Tribune, Telegram, Times etc, etc) paid attention to such things, this might have been called "culpability" and would have been stopped in damn quick order. Anyone remember that term, "culpability" and that age of great American journalism?
But who cares when we "need" to have the latest about the Kardashians, the Horny Bachlorettes, the Real Housewives of Bimbolania and residentials could be built with "en suite parking" (park your vehicle with its 10 gallons of gasoline inside your apartment in an 18 story building) and other utter nonsense kept up-to-date every moment?
Sorry, guys. No intent to offend; I just had to vent. Please forgive!
