Used to ride alot with Elizabeth in the early 90's, my late cousin was a retired Deputy. Great bunch of fellas citywide. They gave me alot of grief when my Dept. used to wear yellow gear. they would always say "send in the canary first

About 20 years ago at a multiple alarm fire, the Chief of Dept. was on scene and I was in rehab wearing my blue work uniform. He didn't notice the VBFD on the back and he said "do you belong to me?" and I replied "yes sir !! I haven't been paid in a month !! The look on his face was priceless. Shortly thereafter, I gave in and told him I was Al's cousin. He chuckled and said "you got me good kid".
