1600hrs- Report of a car fire in the basement of a 5-story warehouse. Heavy smoke condition in the basement.

1617hrs- 2nd Alarm transmitted. Newark FD operating.

1659hrs- 4th Alarm transmitted. Setting up faom operations.

1720hrs- 5th Alarm.

Bring in a 2nd alarm fron fdny and they will knock it down in a half hour. Just joking just begin funny, now im thinking of taking a hike down there reports of the neptune systems going, and units as far north as hackensack and paterson,nj.

Last report I heard about 30 minutes ago was (2) seperate, deep-seated fires in the basement. Bouncing back and forth between interior and exterior attacks.

A friend buffing the fire heard on the radio that Elizabeth is thinking of calling fdny in for hi expansion foam.

M/A from Jersey City to scene.

Considering it still looks like they're getting their butts handed to them I'm surprised they don't call FDNY, at least for consultation if not for actuals suppression resources.  Especially considering they are actually much closer to the scene than some of the companies been called.

It started as a car fire, what's in the warehouse? It has been burning a good 18 hours.

From what i hear it was a bakery, a car and aircraft engine repair place. And now a host to other things.

There is no Hi/Expansion Foam Unit anymore they will have to call in for a Foam Task Force , E-96/Foam Unit, E-206/Foam Unit, E-260/Foam Unit, E-95/Foam Unit, E-72/S2 or E9/S1 or any foam units on Staten Island

Was FDNY ever called for foam?

No, but since this fire is now going on to hour 30 im sure it will come to that, Btw there is still a huge cloud of smoke.

Not my pic but this was only 10 minutes ago.

What about calling Port Authority at Newark Airport for foam? They have helped before, in fact, I remember when a gasoline tanker truck was burning on the Conduit near JFK Airport and they helped out.

This may be the most photographed fire in the history of photographed fires ;)

Anyone remember how long the storage warehouse in Jersey City burned for? I think that went for three days.

Elizabeth is now asking for 2000gpm pumpers and tower ladders.

Isn't a fire like this what the Satellites were designed for [with the large caliber monitor]?
