Story about how Engine 6 will have to move because the street will need to be dug up for construction.
Work is supposes to start in October and last 7 months.

  I don't like this and I predict that they will be moved to E4/L15 and then eventually stay there, JMHO.

Didn't E-6 just get back into their house recently after it was renovated? I can't see the city spending all the money to have the firehouse renovated and then leave them on South Street permanently. Also, When they move, E-4 will already have been permanently closed, correct?

Remember Engine 36's (former L14) firehouse at 120 E. 125th St.? A lot of renovation money was spent to make Division 5's offices on the top floor, now there's no Div. 5 or E36 and it's closed. ???

I have heard rumores that Engine 6's quarters is rented, can anyone confirm if this is true?

If it is then the fire department's been renting that building for over 100 years.

I have heard that the land that E6's house is on is not owned by the city, but was deeded to them with the stipulation that an active firehouse always be there.  Of course, I heard the same thing about another house....
