Former quarters of Engine 203 on Hicks Street in Brooklyn has been a private residence for many years.

Not sure what happened to former quarters of E 212 on Wythe Avenue in Northside (Brooklyn).

After it was first vacated 203s qtrs on Hicks St was used by a company that removed nesting birds from bldgs.....it was called "BY BY BIRDIE" & had the name over the door in the same type letters used for FD Company numbers & they used a surplus ALF Tiller rig that was kept inside.....you could see it when driving by below on the BQE....anybody remember that ?.......when 256 was closed the bldg was available for 125,000......when Spike Lee finished it it was valued at 4 Mil  i see the price has dropped now.

Yes, but I noticed that it has a business sign over the arch the last time I drove past.

I never knew that Rescue2 shared the quarters with E207, L110, L118, and Batt 31. I think when I first rodewith Rescue 2 back in 1968, Eng 207, Lad 110, and Batt 31were already in their new fire house on Tilley St and later sharing that firehouse also with the Super Pumper and Tender Unit.

But I always thought Rescue 2 had always been with Engine 210 on Carlton Ave.

They were not all there at the same time. Rescue 2 was organized March 1,1925 at 160 Carlton Ave.(E210) but was moved to 365 Jay from Oct. 22, 1929 to May 1, 1946 then returned to E210. L118 was organized at 365 Jay on June 8, 1901 and moved to 74 Middagh St. on May 22, 1929. E207 was at Pearl St. and didn't move into 365 Jay until May 1, 1946 when Rescue 2 left and L110 didn't move into 365 Jay until June 26, 1949.

While reviewing some of my Facebook music industry contacts I stumbled upon the "Faison Firehouse Theatre" which is located at 6 Hancock Place (former Ladder 40 firehouse) ;)

What about Ladder 114 quarters on 5 Avenue in Brooklyn? Also Engine 204 quarters on Degraw? Both are still empty last I knew.

Engine 53's old firehouse at 175 E. 104th Street was converted into "El Museo Del Barrio" museum and Engine 54 at 304 W. 47th St. was converted into a small Off-B'way theatre.

Anyone, anyone who want info on BFD houses this is a great site. For those who want a hard copy, ie book check out Returning to Quarters by Richard Connnelly. The author os a good "jake' , assigned to E-29, transferred to L-20. When L-20 was dis-banded (thanks K White you assole) he went to L-7, promoted to Lt and was assigned to E-10 (Spencer's House) and thn went to R-1. Promoted to Capt, re-asigned to E-10 (new quarters).

the original house of what became Fire Patrol 3 is now a PD on Amity St in Cobble Hill/Bklyn Heights.  Our last is now being remodeled as part of the Montessori school behind us.  FP 2 is now owned by Anderson Cooper.  Forget whats up with #1. Dunno if anyone mentioned E208 up in Ft Greene.
