Fayetteville,TN Fire Destroys Multiple Downtown Businesses 2/8/2026

This one hit hard for me. I did not go to this one but participated in a similar fire in July 1979 on the East side of the square. Simply put, I feel the current chief didn't learn from lessons of the past. 6 neighboring departments which responded in 1979 were not requested to respond to this call.As I followed the progression, manpower was critical from the initial alarm. Fayetteville has about 9 on shift!
