February 15, 1909 - LODD
Battalion Chief Michael Graham, 49
Battalion 35
FDNY. Brooklyn, New York
Chief Graham died of injuries he received while working at a fire at the Standard Oil Company. A wall had collapsed and Chief Graham and four other firemen were buried by the debris. Chief Graham had been hit with a thick stone cornice which was mounted on the upper edge of the wall. The heavy stone broke Captain Graham's back, and both legs. The other four firemen were seriously injured, but survived.
RIP. Never forget.
