Firefighter Bub suffered a fatal heart attack while operating at a single-alarm fire.


RIP. Never forget.

The only line-of-duty death that I was on watch for when the four fives came over.
We had no prior knowledge of Fr. Bub's death.
I put it on the HW board and that night when the B.C. came in he saw it and said he knew him.
Rest in peace, Brother.

A recent Department Order announced the death of Fireman Donald Bub's brother, Daniel, back in November.

Dan Bub, formerly of Middletown, NY passed away peacefully in Ocala, Florida on November 28, 2021. Dan and beloved wife Marjorie, had relocated to “The Sunshine State” over 20 years ago. They enjoyed over 65 years of marriage together.



Dan is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Bub, children Donna Henderson (Gary), Daniel Jr., predeceased Patricia Silvernail and Diana Talmadge. Grandfather to Jamie, Kelly, Scott, Alan, Brian, Daniel, Shawn and Kristopher. Great-Grandfather to Connor, Tyler, Peyton and Avery. Cherished Brother of Walter Bub and Uncle to many nieces and nephews.



Dan was a New York City Fireman - Engine 206, Greenpoint, Brooklyn for 20 years and retired in 1980. He and Margie moved the family from Queens, NY to Middletown NY in 1972. Following his retirement from the FDNY, he was the proprietor of Dan Bub Contracting, prior to moving to Florida.



Dan and Margie thoroughly enjoyed their retirement years while living in OTOW (On Top Of The World) in Ocala. They made many new friends and engaged in activities together such as tennis, wallyball, harmonichords, card playing and church gatherings.
