I remember back seeing a question about what CPC & SOC Ladders do & which companies they are

Each answer use to have a link at the end bringing you to which companies they are. Unfortunately the links are not working. So i decided to add which companies are which. The Q&A part has been copied over from the original post which was made by The Late Great Catry

As always Please fill free to make any correction

Q: What is a SOC Support Ladder?
A: The SSLs consist of two pieces: the ladder company and a second supply truck.
The SOC Logistics Support Unit contains concrete and metal cutting saw blades, saw oil,
recharging equipment for battery-operated tools, dust masks, rebar cutters, rakes, shovels, 5
Gallon Buckets, etc. It is assigned to respond on a Major Technical Rescue, 10-60 and when
requested by the Incident Commander.

Q: What is a Chemical Protective Clothing Ladder?
A: A CPC truck consists of two pieces: the ladder company and a second supply truck. CPC companies carry chemical suits used to mitigate HazMat situations, primarily for decon. The CPC role is primarily defensive with emphasis on search, rescue, removal, and decon of civilians and emergency responders. Their protective gear is tailored to their specific needs, and does not supplement that of the mitigation/offensive-oriented Hazmat and Hazmat Technician units.

I know that over the years there has been an EXCELLENT BOOK written by a guy named James Griffinths, who I believe is an HONORARY Deputy Chief within the FDNY.

That book, the latest version being the FDNY Operational Reference Book - 11th edition, was released in April, 2017.

There are facts and details of just about any question regarding the latest apparatus, equipment, tactics, policies, etc etc of the FDNY, including FDNY/EMS.

I believe one of the places it can be purchased is through the FDNY Foundation, the official non profit organization of the FDNY.

Technical Task force consists of a SOC Support Truck, the engine housed with it, and the Battalion Chief for that house. FDNY Bookstore I believe is the cheapest place to purchase it, think I paid 29.95 and got it in 4-5 days. The fire-police-ems bookstore is another source but costs more.

The ?Division Task Force? components cited above are not ?Decon Task Force? components, and are not involved in Decon Operations.

The units shown are the Fire elements of the Division Counter Terrorism Rescue Task Force program. Each 11-person Rescue Task Force includes Fire, EMS, and NYPD Strategic Response Group personnel.

Best book I've seen on big-city firefighting (I was a suburban vollie in northern Delaware for 25 years).  At the time, we were an all-Mack company with four engines, an aerialscope and a heavy rescue.  Those were the days.
