FDNY Helmet Repair/Restore

My father is a retired Fire Lieutenant and I would like to get his helmet restored for him. Any idea where I can get this done?

Capital City really does awesome work! Next spring I myself will be sending my leather helmet up there for some work done.

Why? A good part of the stories and the wars he's fought is in the salt.

I think it's more of a preservation issue. My dad's will need some work in the future if it will have a chance at lasting. The leather can dry out and start to breakdown

Unfortunately leather will dry out, crack, pieces break off.

  I have also heard very good reports on this guy.

  Maybe take a few pictures of the helmet BEFORE it gets a rehab. "You know, they say a picture is worth a thousand words". And if some of those helmets could talk, they'd sure have a lot to tell.
