FDNY Motor Vehicle Accidents

Are there any statistics available on FDNY MVAs????

It seems that there have been a lot of MVAs in the last few months.   

How are thes accidents handled?  Who investigates?  Is the city liable for large payouts?  Do FDNY drivers get reprimands?

A lot depends on the severity of the accident - for minor accidents normally a local BC will do the investigation and take the report - for major apparatus accidents the Safety Battalion is dispatched.  See Griffith's Operational Reference - in Eighth Edition it is discussed on page 82.
