FDNY Salvage Company

No we didn't have another helmet. Firefighting units were only performing salvage usually at the job we operated at. Unless no salvage at present job, unit was special called to perform the salvage operation. There were dedicated salvage units, other than a firefighting unit that may have had those helmets. Salvage unit as far as I know was located in Manhattan to cover high end fire locations. The ghetto areas didn't need that Salvage unit.

Salvage 3 - Webster Ave. Near Fordham Rd.

Promoted to Lt. - 1st assignment, covering vacation at Salvage 3 - great hooks I had! Don't remember them wearing those helmets, but that was a long time ago.
