No one put in the FDNY colors.  In the early 1900's they had white apparatus, horse driven and motorized, then red, the the lime green experiment, then white over red and finally today's scheme    8)

It is kind of hard to believe that the white over red used here in the city has been in use for almost thirty years.

That rig would eventually be assigned to L176 as their regular apparatus. The Model of that rig used to be in the officers quarters at The Tinhouse, and I remember it being in the new house On Rockaway & Chauncey.

Meriden, Ct Silver over red. Meriden is known as the "Silver City"

Wow.  I've always thought the Ward LaFrance Firebrand was the ugliest fire apparatus ever built, but that San Jose Sharks CF has it beat all to pieces.  I will admit, though that it's only the paint job . . . not the apparatus design, and I guess that makes a difference.

I think the Ward LaFrance Vantage is the ugliest ever made. Especially in Grapeville purple.

I like the Firebrand.

Two sites for orange rigs: Indiania Fire Trucks go to St Joseph Country go to Harris Township. By the way this is a good apparatus site for Indy rigs. Second site do a search for Coal City Illinois, site is hard to work with but all rigs are orange.

And one more Kentland MD, white with a brown stripe. Their old TL which they purchased from FDNY is one of the most difficult rigs to find from Code 3, plus the engine.

Yes, former TL17's 1978 Mack that had a cartoon character with 2 black-eyes and numerous injuries with the slogan: "ANYTIME BABY" on its boom.
