Fort Bend County deputy dies after hit-and-run while helping stranded driver on I-10, officials say

Officials said that Deputy Kenneth Lewis was hit while helping a stranded driver on I-10 in west Houston. He later died in the hospital from his injuries, according to FBCSO.

Eleven years ago, Deputy Lewis had to jump off a bridge to avoid being hit by his own patrol car in another freeway accident. He fell thirty feet and survived. This time he was not so fortunate.
