Does anybody know anything about the history of this unit?

I do remember when this was first put into service it was assigned to Staten Island. It might have been with Eng 154 (?). It was the only one of its kind and I don't think it served very long. I remember seeing it kept at the Rock after that.

According to posts on our Facebook age, two used units were acquired through FEMA and didn't last very long.

Bad ass looking RIG but did not have the longevity left for FDNY.

saw it at 154 back in 2003, havent seen it since.

That pictured rig is a 1990 assigned to Haz-Mat operations.  The one assigned to BFU154 at E154 was a 1989 model and never had the white and gold stripes.  There was never a 1986 model operated by FDNY.
