"Deo is a 9 yr veteran firefighter of the FDNY. As a member of Engine 153 in Staten Island, NY. His reputation is highly looked upon in our firehouse, as well as throughout the FDNY. Deo had just finished up working a night tour in the firehouse, and felt some numbness in his feet. He drove to the ER to get checked out. Upon his visit to the ER, they discovered a mass (cancerous) in his spine. The Doctors felt he needed to have emergency surgery, to remove the mass. Due to the severity of its location. They had to airlift him (via helicopter) to a hospital in Long Island, NY. Where they specialize in these types of surgeries. During the surgery they had to remove part of his thoracic spine, and fuse them together. Since the surgery, he has been doing chemotherapy. Upon follow up scans, they have discovered a small mass. Which has resurfaced around the area where they removed the previous mass in his thoracic spine.
The medical bills for the airlift (via helicopter), are somewhat astronomical. As well as the other bills due to treatments and rehabilitation. Any and all would be greatly appreciated. Especially from the members of Engine 153 and Ladder 77"
