Are gas stoves dangerous?

An "environmental" group named WE ACT spent 10 months studying 20 households at 1471 Watson Avenue in the Bronx. They compared ambient air quality cooking with gas or electric induction stoves.

Average CO levels over 24 hours were 1.4 ppm for gas and 0.8 ppm with induction stoves.

The U.S. National Ambient Air Quality Standard for outdoors is 9 ppm. There are NO indoor standards.

Tests DURING COOKING had NO2 levels of 192 ppb for gas versus 14 ppb for induction stoves.

The NAAQS standard for one hour average is 100 ppb and 53 ppb average for one year. The OSHA anytime limit is 5000 ppb.

This type of data is used to justify the removal of gas stoves. Looks pretty lame to me. Class action lawsuits against overburdened taxpayers are on the way.

Induction stoves require a new 40 Amp breaker in or near the kitchen with an upgraded 220 Volt supply. Presently 1471 Watson Avenue can only support two induction stove installations per vertical line.

Can you imagine NYCHA rewiring an entire building? They can't even supply heat, hot water, or lead-free paint.

Why did they chose to use an abduction stove as opposed to a standard electrical stove. And what’s the cost difference between the two $$$.
