Hazmat Company 1 operates with an officer and seven firefighters on each tour and carries a great deal of specialized equipment -- too many people and too much gear to fit into one vehicle.
Decon operations are carried out by the Decon Support Unit and the five Decontamination Shower Apparatus units as well as the 25 Decon Task Forces, each composed of a SOC Support Ladder, an associated engine company and battalion chief.
